GREENSBORO, N.C. — Have we had enough rain yet? It's a question that we've gotten a lot lately in the WFMY News 2 Weather department. The answer? Yes, but we're not done yet.

We've had our fair share, plus some, so far this year and there's still plenty of time left to go with a soaking rain on the way the next couple of days.

In the Triad, we've recorded over 2 inches every month of the year so far, with four months that really stand out for being the wettest and adding to the year-long total by a big margin. Some you may remember.

February, May, August, and October have been the wettest months of the year in the Tirad with over 5" each of those months.

We still have roughly a month and a half left to go in the year, but four months of the year really stand out as adding to our total of almost 53 inches of rain at this point.

February, May, August, and October all recorded over 5 inches of rain at Piedmont-Triad International Airport, with May coming in with a whopping 9.45 inches. August wasn't far behind May with over 8.5 inches.

At this point, the Triad is sitting just under 53 inches of rain for the year, already Top 10 wettest years on record for our area. We're only a little over 3 inches from moving into the Top 5. With 2 to 4 inches of rain likely between Wednesday and Thursday, it's entirely possible we make it into that Top 5 spot by the end of this week.

We're already well over a foot above normal, too. Fifty-two point ninety-seven inches of rain puts us more than 15 inches above normal.

Dust off the umbrellas and keep them close by for the next couple of days. We'll be filling the rain gauges and watching us climb on the list.
