Crews respond to crane collapse in Downtown St. Pete during Hurricane Milton

Crews at the same time of the crane incident also responded to roof damage reported at Tropicana Field.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A crane reportedly collapsed in Downtown St. Pete late Wednesday night as Hurricane Milton made its way through Florida's coast.

St. Pete Fire Rescue says the crane collapsed in the area of the 400 Central Avenue building construction site. 

Crews at the same time of the crane incident also responded to roof damage reported at Tropicana Field.

No injuries have been reported in either incident. First responders are doing damage assessments in both areas when conditions are safer.

Officials are asking the public to continue to shelter in place and avoid the area until
further notice.
