JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Furnitureland South in Jamestown is hosting a hurricane relief supply drive.
It has a 52ft truck on its campus that is available to hold emergency supplies.
As the weather changes a spokesperson told WFMY News 2 it is also collecting warmer items including: blankets and camping stoves.
"Put yourself in those shoes of what is it you would need if you'd lost everything. So that's really where we're trying to focus on," Executive Director of HR Karen Fishel said.
At this point, the company is thinking about immediate needs but it is also considering the rebuilding process of Western North Carolina in the future.
"We want to make sure that we're assisting where we can to hep those in need of refurnishing those areas," Fischel said.
She told us several clients and employees are impacted by the devastation.
Fischel said the supply drive has no end date.
"We're not going pull the trailer out after a week, we are going to stay here and connect with those communities," she shared.
Furnitureland South has already sent supplies by air through Operation Air Drop and is partnering with Southern Roots to give out food in Western North Carolina.
