Buncombe County gives update on water restoration

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Buncombe County Government gave an update to when residents can expect some water sources to be restored.

Buncombe County announced Monday, the North Fork 36-in water bypass is expected to be reconnected within the next 72 hours.

Buncombe County officials said the North Fork Reservoir continues to be murky and sediment levels must go down before the water is drawn.

Environmental Protection Agency officials are on-site providing resources and technical assistance to treat the reservoir.

Buncombe County officials said water cannot be delivered from reservoirs until the distribution systems are repaired.   

Buncombe County said the Mills River Water Plant is fully operational.

Asheville water officials ask if you have access to water in the area that you conserve.
