ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Asheville Police Department expressed gratitude to one of the people they said supported them in the aftermath of Helene-- a local hairstylist.

Asheville police said Amy Rose and her team at Salon Zhenya gave hair cuts and helped them and other first responders look sharp as they worked long hours as a result of the storm.

Rose is a five-time winner of the Mountain Xpress "Best Hairstylist" award and an Asheville native.

"This is my way of saying thank you to my hometown and showing support for our first responders who do so much for us." Rose said.

Asheville police said they are truly grateful for this generous gesture and the heart Rose has shown for Asheville.
