Hurricane Florence continues to strengthen in the Central Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center has upgraded Hurricane Florence to a Category 4 storm.
Recent satellite imagery suggests that the storm's winds have increased to 130 mph making it a category four hurricane. Storms that reach category three or higher are considered major hurricanes by definition.
The storm is expected to continue to move to the WNW as we head through the next several days.
The system is too far out in the Atlantic for any predictions to whether or not it'll be an issue for the east coast. We'll keep an eye on it, and update you as necessary.
