Getting warmer, which brings humidity and the chance for rain

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tonight: Clouds Return.  Shower Possible by Morning. Low 53.

Election Day: Clouds Around. Isolated Shower Possible. High 72.

Thursday: Mostly Cloudy. Isolated Shower. High 75.

Friday: Partly Sunny. High 72.

Saturday: Partly Sunny. High 68.

WEATHER SUMMARY

Cooler, cloudy weather started our week with high pressure in control far to our north. This sends cool air down the coast. Starting on Election Day, this high will be moving offshore and we're looking at winds shifting around coming in from the southeast going forward this week.

This will mean a push of moisture moving into the Carolinas. As it heads inland, clouds and an isolated shower will be possible from time to time on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Expect temperatures warming slowly by surely into the 70s by each afternoon but keep the rain gear close to be on the safe side.

Looking toward the end of the week, cooler air will be pushing back.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Rafael formed on Monday afternoon near Jamaica. It will move into the Gulf of Mexico by the weekend. It is expected to weaken there as it runs into dry air and wind shear.

The normal low is 42, and the normal high is 65.
