WEATHER SUMMARY
Cold, Canadian high pressure will continue to slowly build east from the Southern Plains to the East Coast through the weekend. This will keep breezy and chilly conditions through Saturday. Breezes at times could exceed 25 mph! Today, gusts have been up to 40 mph across the Piedmont. Tonight will be mainly clear and chilly in the upper 30s.
Temperatures will recover a bit over the weekend as surface high pressure shifts east and offshore. This will bring a return of southwesterly flow to the area, pushing temperatures back toward/above normal. Highs on Saturday will be a bit warmer in the mid 50s with low 50s returning for Sunday afternoon. Overnight lows will be in the chilly upper 30s to near 40. Mainly dry skies will stay put for all of your weekend plans.
Next week, temperatures will start out seasonably warm in the mid to upper 60s amid plenty of sunshine. Lows will even be in the low 50s Monday evening. A cold front will approach the area on Tuesday. It likely won't have much moisture by the time it gets here, but temperatures will drop significantly behind the front. High temperatures Wednesday through Friday will struggle in the 50s. Though a bit unclear, another system could bring a shower chance by Thanksgiving Day.
The normal low is 37, and the normal high is 59.
