ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – Rockingham County got hit hard as severe thunderstorms rolled through the area.
The storm system caused flooding in the downtown Madison area and other parts as well.
The storm system also brought hail and trees down across the Rockingham County area.

At one point more than 6,754 people were without power in the Rockingham County area. Monday morning at 8 a.m., Duke Energy's website reported 4,348 of its customers in the county were without power.
The storm also brought lots of hail. Yards and roads looked like they were coated with snow.
WFMY News 2 viewers also captured storm clouds with the hint of green color which also indicates a storm system with hail.
