RONDA, N.C. — A Jonesville man is dead after getting into an accident with a dump truck in Wilkes County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
David Edward Wolfgang Sr., 55, was driving west on Bethel Road in Ronda, NC. Troopers said he attempted to turn left at a stop sign onto Clingman Road when he turned in front of a dump truck going northbound.
Wolfgang was critically injured in the crash and was flown to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later died from his injuries.
Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
Troopers do not think impairment or speed were contributing factors to the crash. No charges will be filed.
