Truck transporting container hits bridge on US 29 in Randolph County

Troopers said a truck's load was stuck in a bridge around 5:30 a.m. and an enclosed container flew off and landed in the road.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — US 29/70 Northbound near Prospect Street is reopened after a container from a truck flew off and landed on the road, troopers say. There were no reported injuries. 

A truck with a load got stuck in a bridge on US Highway 29/70 northbound at Prospect Street in Randolph County early Tuesday morning.

The truck's load was an enclosed container on a flatbed trailer. After impact, the container became detached and landed on the road. 

Troopers said two crashes happened that involved 2 cars each.
