Two Bridges Open, but Another One Closes Along Business 40

The NCDOT plans to reopen the bridges starting next week

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Get ready for another big change in Winston-Salem. 

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is planning to open up two bridges as part of the Business 40 improvement project. Both Main and Church street bridges will be opening, while the Cherry Street bridge is being prepared to close.

The tentative dates for reopening are Wednesday, May 1st for Main Street and Saturday, May 11th for Church Street.

Crews are planning to shut down Cherry Street on Sunday, May 5th.

If you typically drive along Cherry Street, crews will be directing you to use Brookstown Avenue, Main Street, and First street during construction.
