GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person died and three others were injured in a crash on Highway 29 in Greensboro Wednesday morning, according to police.
Greensboro police said the single-vehicle crash happened on US-29 Southbound near MLK Boulevard. Four people were in the car - one of them died and three others were taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening but serious injuries.
Police said Dabney Jo Grubbs, 21, of Reidsville died after she was ejected from the vehicle.
The crash is still under investigation. However, Greensboro police said both speed and impairment are believed to be factors in the deadly crash.
The crash shut down the southbound lanes of the highway for several hours.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
