A woman dies after vehicle crash on I-40, police say

Police said the woman died as a result of her injuries.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman has died after a vehicle crash on I-40, according to police.

A 2014 Infiniti Q50 was traveling east on I-40 and struck the rear of a 2007 Acura RDX at 12:29 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The crash caused the Acura to travel off the highway to the left and strike a guardrail. The Acura rolled over and the front passenger, Priscilla Keene, 30, of Greensboro, was ejected from the car.

Police said Keene died as a result of her injuries.

Travis Bayne, 37, of Greensboro, was the driver of the Acura. Bayne and a 3-year-old child in the vehicle had non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Infiniti fled the scene and the vehicle became disabled and abandoned, according to police.

The Greensboro Police Department said the vehicle crash is related to a road closure earlier this morning on I-40 East/I-85 North between US Highway 29 North and Lee Street.

All lanes of the road have now been reopened. Police said the crash remains an active investigation.
