A man is dead after motorcycle crash in Burlington, according to police

The Burlington Police Department Traffic Unit has assumed full responsibility for the ongoing investigation into the specifics of the crash.

A road in Burlington, NC remains closed after a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Burlington Police Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle resulting in serious injury around 6:22 a.m. Friday morning. 

The crash happened on O'Neal Street near the intersection of Edgewood Ave. Police said the investigation focused on a single vehicle, specifically the motorcycle, which was involved in the crash. 

Elijah Greer, 29, was identified as the operator of the motorcycle. Greer was found dead at the scene, according to police. 

Police said it was an isolated crash, implicating no other vehicles were involved. 

O'Neal Street was closed while an investigation of the crash was being conducted. The road has now reopened.
