Town of Ramseur officer runs traffic signal, crashes with teen driver, troopers say

Highway Patrol said investigators will meet with the Randolph County District Attorney's Office on Friday regarding possible charges.

RAMSEUR, N.C. — Highway Patrol said a Town of Ramseur Officer ran a traffic signal and crashed with a teen driver. 

It happened Thursday at the intersection of US 64 and NC 49. 

Troopers said the officer, Brandon Schultheis, was in his marked patrol car when he failed to stop at the traffic signal and struck a car. 

The officer had minor injuries. 

The teen was not hurt.
