Bicyclist dies in crash on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem

The bicyclist was dead at the scene, according to police.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A bicyclist is dead after a crash on Peters Creek Parkway Wednesday night, Winston-Salem police say.

Officers responded to the scene just after 9:15 p.m.

When they arrived at the scene they found Irving Leal Cisneros, 31, dead at the scene. The driver and passenger received minor injuries.

Investigation revealed that a car was going south on Peters Creek Parkway, crossing Academy Steet, under a steady green light in its direction. Cisneros was going west under a red light when he collided with the car.

It was dark at the time of the crash and the bike was not equipped with any lights or wheel reflectors. Police said Cisneros was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing or a helmet or body-worn lighting.
