ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol identified the driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Alamance County.
Penske truck driver, Desmone Kashawn Reeder, 45, and the truck he was driving when he sideswiped 19-year-old Darrin Alston Swann, was found in New Jersey and taken into custody, troopers confirmed Thursday.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on County Line Road near Oak Tree Lane in Alamance County.
Troopers said Swann died at the scene. Investigators said a Penske box truck going the opposite direction sideswiped Swann's car, causing him to go off the road and crash into a ditch.
Troopers haven't said what charges the box truck driver faces. We're working to get more information.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call North Carolina State Highway Patrol at 1-800-445-8621 or dial *47.
