EDEN, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed in Eden Thursday night, according to the North Carolina Highway State Patrol.
It happened on West Fieldcrest Road near Byrd Street.
Investigators said 22-year-old Noah Yeatts was driving west on West Fieldcrest Road before hitting 41-year-old Kristina Jarrett who was walking north across West Fieldcrest Road.
Troopers said Yeatts was unable to avoid hitting Jarrett.
Jarrett died on the scene. Yeatts was not hurt.
Detectives said speed is not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
This investigation is ongoing.
