Man dead after motorcycle crash on NC 16, troopers say

No charges will be filed, according to troopers

MILLERS CREEK, N.C. — A man is dead after a crash on NC 16 in Wilkes County, according to North Carolina State Troopers.

According to troopers, Tyler David Williams, 23, was riding a motorcycle traveling south on NC 16. He attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone.

Williams collided with another car as it was turning left into a parking lot near Shingle Gap Road, troopers said.

Williams was ejected from his motorcycle and died from his injuries on the scene, according to troopers.

Micah Jesse Henry, 44, the driver of the car, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, troopers said.

Troopers said impairment was not a contributing factor to the crash. No charges will be filed.
