GREENSBORO, N.C. — I-40 Westbound at Hope Church Road in eastern Greensboro is back open after it shut down for a few hours due to a multiple-car pileup.
Officers with the Greensboro Police Department were on the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Here is the full press release sent around 11:20 p.m. Saturday night from GPD:
"Please be advised that Interstate 40 Westbound is closed at Mount Hope Church Road in both directions. Greensboro Police is on scene investigating a vehicle accident with injury. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route and use caution if traveling in the area. No further information is available at this time."
Guilford Metro told WFMY that multiple vehicles collided, but they do not have the number or extent of injuries at this time.
