GREENSBORO, N.C. — A six-inch water main break has closed two southbound lanes of Martin Luther King Junior Drive on the street's 2200 block from the I-40 overpass to Patterson Avenue, according to the City of Greensboro.

The city said four businesses along MLK Jr. Drive are currently without water. City crews are expected to be on site making repairs until repairs are complete, which it anticipates will be at approximately midnight.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. The city also said that if you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or the bathtub until clear.
