GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 27-year-old Greensboro man died Sunday after succumbing to injuries suffered when he was hit by a car Friday night on Lees Chapel Road.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, Ryan Madden was walking in the roadway on Lees Chapel Road on Friday when he was hit by a Ford Fusion traveling west.

Madden was initially transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to officers, the driver of the Ford Fusion stayed on the scene to speak with them after the incident.

The Greensboro Police Department says speed and impairment are not believed to be a factor in the collision. The department's Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
