I-40 closed in Winston-Salem due to crash investigation

WSPD Communications said a tractor-trailer spilled diesel into lanes around 5:20 a.m.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A road is closed in Winston-Salem due to a crash investigation on Thursday.

Winston-Salem police said I-40 westbound, less than a mile east of Hwy 52, is closed.

WSPD Communications said a tractor-trailer spilled diesel into lanes around 5:20 a.m.

All eastbound lanes are closed, and one westbound lane is open.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
