GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person died following a crash at Sandy Ridge Road and I-40 in Greensboro Tuesday.
According to Greensboro police, Jeral Leroy Doyle, 58, of Dobson was driving a 1995 Jeep Wrangler heading east on Interstate 40 when he left the roadway to the right and crashed.
Investigators said Doyle died at the scene.
Police said the ramp from Sandy Ridge Road to eastbound Interstate 40 was shut down because of a wreck.
One lane was closed on the westbound side of the highway from mile marker 210 to 208 (Sandy Ridge Road exit) for maintenance.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area and find a different way.
