GREENSBORO, N.C. — A witness told WFMY News 2's Jay Capers that a police car responding to a car crash was hit by a train.
Karden Chen said his uncle was involved in a two-car crash on Hilltop Road. Chen said a Greensboro police vehicle was parked along the train tracks while responding to the incident.
Later, while the officer was outside the car, a train barreled into the back of the cruiser. The witness said the officer was not hit.
Amtrak told WFMY News 2 that train 76 collided with an unoccupied vehicle obstructing the track. None of the 58 passengers or crew members aboard were injured in the crash, Amtrak said.
WFMY News 2 has reached out to the Greensboro Police Department and are waiting to hear back.
