WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Heavy traffic is expected in Winston-Salem Saturday due to a fair and a football game.

Winston-Salem police said drivers in the area around the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium will experience large volumes of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

This will be due to the Carolina Classic Fair taking place at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and a Wake Forest University football game taking place at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Wake Forest is playing Clemson University which is expected to be a sold-out game.

Extended travel times are expected for both venues. Those going to the fair or football game should plan accordingly.

Police said they, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), and the Winston-Salem Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be in the area to help with traffic control and event security.
