ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Alamance County firefighters worked four and a half hours to put out a 'large structure fire,' according to personnel on scene.
Alamance County Fire Marshal, John Payne said the fire started Saturday morning around 4 a.m. in the area of Carolina Mill Rd. and Carolina Rd.
Responding firefighters told WFMY News 2 they had been fighting the flames for four and a half hours.
According to a social media post, Station 7 and many other Alamance County fire departments were working to put it out.
The inflamed structure sits near the Copland building. Payne said the building had been vacant for years and is now a total loss.
Deputies one scene said the building is a former mill.
Payne said no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
