GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person is dead and three have been hospitalized following a late-night car wreck in Greensboro.
Just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, 22-year-old Brianna Moore ran an intersection on S. Spring St. in her Mercedes-Benz sedan, drove off the road and crashed into a building, Greensboro police said.
Passenger Makieya Rae Smith died as a result of the crash. She was 20 years old, officers said.
Alcohol and speeding are considered factors in the crash, police said.
Two other 20-year-old passengers from Winston-Salem, Jonyvi Fogle and Dandria Penn, as well as Moore, were taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. There's been no update on their condition.
Police are still investigating the crash.
