HIGH POINT, N.C. — A person has died after a vehicle crashed into a building Monday night, according to High Point police.
Officers confirmed that 24-year-old Michael Gerald McLaurin was dead at the scene. It was determined that speed and the lack of a seat belt were contributing factors in the crash.
Officers said they received a call around 9 p.m. about a wreck at the intersection of College Drive and Branch Street.
They found a 2003 Honda Accord partially inside the building with extensive damage to both the car and the building.
This investigation is ongoing.
