All lanes of I-85 N in Davidson County back open after vehicle fire

The road reopened at around 7 p.m. on Monday.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Update (10:18 p.m.): Thomasville Fire Chief Jason Myers said all lanes are back open.

Update (4:30 p.m.): Thomasville Fire Chief Jason Myers says the right lane of I-85 North won't be open for another "four or five" hours.

The right lane of I-85 North is closed at the Lake Road exit (Exit 102) in Thomasville due to a bus fire, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The incident occurred shortly after noon Monday in Davidson County. According to firefighters, the bus, which was being towed, caught fire. They say the fire likely started after the fuel tanks of the bus overheated.

No injuries were reported. The NCDOT expect the left lane to reopen around 4 p.m.
