WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A crash involving a school bus happened on Thursday morning, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.
Police said they received a call around 7:42 a.m. related to the crash. The crash happened on Reynolda Road, according to police.
The Winston-Salem Police Department said a car was driving southeast on Reynolda Road when the sun "prevented the driver of the car from seeing the traffic light." The driver of the car drove through a red light and ran into a bus, according to police.
The bus was crossing from Reynolda Road to Andrews Drive, according to police.
Police said all involved individuals in the crash sustained minor injuries.
School officials told WFMY News 2 there were about 40 students from Old Town Elementary School on board the bus.
This is a developing story.
