I-73 southbound lanes reopen after tractor trailer crash shuts lanes down

Northbound lanes remain closed.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — All lanes of I-73 are closed north of Asheboro in Randolph County near exit 86 due to a tractor trailer crash. The road is expected to reopen by noon, according to officials. 

Drivers must stay alert in the area and use the following detours:

Southbound traffic: Drivers must exit at exit 89. Take a left at end of ramp onto NC 62. Follow NC 62 until Randleman Road. Make a right on Randleman Road and follow until US 220, then make a right onto US 220 and follow to reaccess I-73 South. 

Northbound traffic: Drivers must exit at exit 86. Take a right at the end of the ramp onto US 220. Follow US 220 until Randleman Road. Make a left onto Randleman Road. Follow Randleman Road until NC 62 then, make a left on NC 62 and follow to reaccess to I-73.
