CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — When four civilian astronauts launch on the private Inspiration4 spaceflight later this year they are set to get quite a view-- through a glass dome.

Plans for the window were announced Tuesday when the full crew for the upcoming adventure was also revealed.

The dome will give them a 360-view of outer space. It will be placed where the space station docking system usually goes.

Their SpaceX Dragon capsule — currently parked at the International Space Station for NASA — will launch no earlier than mid-September, aiming for an altitude of 335 miles. That’s 75 miles higher than the International Space Station and on a level with the Hubble Space Telescope.

Billionaire Jared Isaacman, the sponsor of the historic trip, will also serve as the spacecraft commander.

Elon Musk tweeted about the window Tuesday saying, "Probably most 'in space' you could possibly feel by being in a glass dome."

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
