CUPERTINO, Calif. — On Tuesday, Apple announced they are releasing two new Pride Edition bands with dynamic Pride watch faces in support of the global LGBTQ+ community and equality movement in celebration of Pride Month this June. This year's Pride Edition Sport Loop showcases a color gradient with the word "pride" woven directly into the band.
Apple is also launching a new shot on iPhone pride campaign on Instagram that captures the essence of artists and figures within the global LGBTQ+ community.
Apple is also building its long-running support for LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations working to bring positive change. They're working with organizations such as Encircle, which provides life-affirming programs and services for the LGBTQ+ community and their families and the Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people.
Members and allies of the LGBTQ+ creative community at Apple inspired the design of the watch.
This new watch face combines colors, inspired by multiple pride flags, to represent the strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ movement.
The shot on iPhone pride campaign will showcase imagery from a group of intersectional creatives, celebrating present-day queer pioneers in places of historic significances to the LGBTQ+ movement.
