WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Dash didn't make the postseason this year, but there was still plenty of excitement surrounding the team, even with no more games on the schedule.

This week, the Dash announced that they have been nominated by the MiLB for the Best Alternate Identity in all of Minor League Baseball in 2024.

The Dash's alternate identity, the "Hype Hens," made its debut at Truist Stadium on May 10. Along with the name change, the team hosted a "Fowl Ball" — a dance party featuring live chickens on the field. They also installed a new chicken coop in the Kids Zone section thanks to a partnership with Carolina Coops.

If you would like to vote for the Hype Hens as the best alternate identity, you can do so via this online poll. Voting closes on Sept. 23, and you can vote up to 100 times.

The Winston-Salem Dash finished the 2024 season with a 29-37 overall record. The Dash are the High-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
