NC Olympian Bam Adebayo calls out his NBA team after win vs. Puerto Rico

Adebayo used one of Charles Barkley's signature insults to describe his performance against Puerto Rico.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bam Adebayo didn't have his best game of the Olympics against Puerto Rico on Saturday, but that doesn't mean he can't joke about it.

The NBA veteran called out his own team for praising his performance, channeling his inner Charles Barkley on X, the website formerly known as Twitter. Here's what Adebayo posted following Team USA's 104-83 win

"Y'all didn't have to post my quadruple single," Adebayo joked, including a crying emoji.

For those who don't follow the NBA or TNT's "Inside the TNT," Barkley often calls out players with bad games for posting a "triple single." He first used the comment describing Lonzo Ball's performance against the Indiana Pacers several years ago.

Adebayo finished Saturday's game with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Not great, especially after he dominated South Sudan with 18 points and 7 rebounds.

Anthony Edwards led the scoring for Team USA, finishing with 26 points. Five other Americans reached double figures in the win. Charlotte native Steph Curry also struggled offensively, scoring 8 points on 3-of-8 shooting.

The U.S. will be the top seed in the Olympic tournament. Their Tuesday opponent remains to be announced, as pairings will be announced after a random draw. The U.S. is looking for a historic fifth straight gold medal in men's basketball.
