GREENSBORO, N.C. — As the athletes prepare for this year's North Carolina East-West All-Star game, today, the West Team made a special pit stop at a Guilford County Elementary School.
The team visited General Greene Elementary Friday to spend some time with students and let them know all the things they can accomplish when they work hard.
"As the kids see how big we are now, and the great things we've accomplished and will continue to accomplish. They know anything is possible," Southwest Guilford Tight End Jaylen Carl said.
"I mean look at me, I went to this school. If you keep working and keep going to class, they can do anything they want in life."
The 36 players from the West Team engaged in science activities, music, technology, P.E., and recess with the kids. Hopefully inspiring the next generation of North Carolina scholar-athletes in the process.
"As for our students today, out there throwing the ball around on the playground with our 5th graders. I know that's a moment our students as well as the players will keep with them forever," General Greene Elementary principal Stephanie Harris said.
All the students at General Greene also received a free ticket to Saturday's game. This year's East-West All-Star Game kicks off at 1 p.m. at Grimsley High School.
