The Carolina Panthers start the 2018 season with a home clash against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Panthers take a couple knees and this one is over.

Cowboys get it at their own 25. On 3rd and 7, Prescott is sacked and the Panthers recover! That'll do it! Panthers will start the 2018 season 1-0! Mario Addison with the sack and Captain Munnerlyn recovers the fumble!

Big 3rd and 11 coming up for the Panthers with 2:07 left and the two-minute warning looming. Cam scrambles looking for an outlet and slides down in bounds to run the clock down to 2 minutes. Dallas will get one more chance with one timeout remaining.

An out to the sideline is incomplete! Julius Peppers was there to put the pressure on Prescott. Panthers take over with 2:13 left and need to get a couple first downs.

A big sack by Kawann Short and an incomplete pass makes it third and 18. Linebacker Luke Kuechly is banged up after his legs get caught up. It's 4th and 10 and the Cowboys must convert.

An illegal contact penalty against the Panthers gives Dallas a first down near midfield 3:19 left.

Newton is sacked on third and long and Dallas will get the ball back with a chance to tie. Prescott finds Cole Beasley for a big gain. Panthers will have to close out what's been a solid defensive performance to this point.

A pass is caught for a first down by McCaffrey after Newton avoids pressure.

Panthers offensive tackle Daryl Williams is down. Williams is being carted off.

Elliott gets the Cowboys on the board on a sweep. Prescott scoots by a gap in the protection and extends for the two-point conversion. The Panthers' lead is trimmed to 16-8 with 8:51 left to play. It's a one-score game.

Dallas has the ball in the red zone and Prescott runs for a first down after scrambling around.

The Panthers have kept big plays to a minimum so far, giving Dallas only one true scoring opportunity. Dak Prescott has 122 yards passing on 14/21 passing. The Panthers have six players with a catch while Cam leads the team in rushing with 64 yards.

A 9-yard run by C.J. Anderson gets the Panthers to the 1, then fullback Alex Armah takes it in for the touchdown and the Panthers are cruising now! It's 16-0 after the botched extra point attempt. 14:12 remaining.

On 3rd and 11, a swing pass to Zeke Elliott is stopped by Mike Adams and Dallas settles for a 47-yard field goal attempt. It's no good! Still 10-0 Panthers with 2:38 left in the third quarter.

Dallas gets its first third-down conversion and then is flagged for holding. Cowboys on the Panthers' side of the field.

Panthers trying to wear down the Cowboys defensively. They haven't scored much yet, but they haven't needed to. Carolina is punting from its own 20 after Cam's pass is batted down.

The Panthers tweet that Greg Olsen is out with a foot injury.

HALF: Panthers 10, Cowboys 0

Graham Gano hits a 27-yard field goal and it's 10-0 at halftime! Pretty good first half for Carolina, who outgained Dallas 209-60 and collected 12 first downs to Dallas' four. The Christian McCaffrey fumble was big, but Carolina rebounded nicely.

Panthers moving downfield again and have the ball in the red zone in the final minute of the half. Zeke Elliott has only 18 yards on seven carries for the Cowboys.

Cam with the 4-yard touchdown run! And we have our first touchdown giveaway of the season! 7-0 Panthers with 8:50 left in the half!

Damiere Byrd gets the Panthers to the Dallas 35-yard line on the punt return. Prime opportunity for the Panthers to go up here.

Olsen is headed to the locker room with a foot injury. Nice sack by Panthers' Shaq Thompson. Cowboys will punt from deep in their own end.

Cam hit as he throws and the Panthers will punt. Panthers outgaining the Cowboys 103-43 so far.

END FIRST QUARTER: Panthers 0, Cowboys 0

Late in the first quarter, Greg Olsen with a 14-yard pickup over the middle. Olsen was questionable to play coming into Sunday. Another pass called back for a penalty.

4:48 - A Christian McCaffrey fumble gives the Cowboys the ball back.

4:41 - A roughing the passer call gives the Panthers a first down.

4:40 p.m. - Dallas faces third and 21 after a holding penalty and a no gain from Zeke Elliott. Another handoff to Zeke and they'll punt. Panthers should get good field position to start.

4:35 p.m. - The game is scheduled to kick off.

A thunderstorm over uptown Charlotte is causing some problems in the area. Kickoff has been moved back to 4:35 p.m.
