CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers and Bank of America announced an extension of their naming rights agreement for Bank of America Stadium, keeping Charlotte's NFL stadium name intact.
Bank of America has held the naming rights of Carolina's stadium since 2004, when it signed a 20-year agreement with the franchise. Since that time, the stadium has become more than just an NFL venue, hosting concerts, Major League Soccer events and the ACC Championship annually since 2010.
"We are proud that the stadium will continue to carry the name of one of Charlotte's most iconic and philanthropic companies," Panthers President Kristi Coleman said in a release. "Extending our naming rights agreement not only speaks to the value of our partnership, but also underscores the mutual trust and shared commitment that defines our relationship."
Bank of America Stadium hosts nearly 40 major ticketed events each year, according to the Panthers, attracting visitors from all 50 states and dozens of countries. The next major event at Bank of America Stadium is the Duke's Mayo Bowl, pitting North Carolina against West Virginia on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
