CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The No. 1 Tar Heels take down No. 16 Wagner in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 90 to 62, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.
North Carolina defeated Wagner on Thursday, leading throughout the game. Armando Bacot's 20 points and 15 rebounds helped secure the victory.
RJ Davis, named a first-team All-American by The Associated Press this week, scored 17 of his 22 points in the second half to lead the Tar Heels to victory.
After halftime, Tar Heels extended their lead with Davis and Harrison Ingram's back-to-back 3-pointers. Withers' alley-oop dunk from Elliot Cadeau added a commanding advantage, making it 70-50 with 8:33 remaining.
They will now play No. 9 Michigan State on Saturday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. on WFMY News 2.
