CHARLOTTE, N.C. — UPDATE: Notre Dame is the ACC Women's Basketball Champion.
Clinching its first Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title in program history, Virginia Tech will be the No. 1 seed in the 47th annual 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which runs Wednesday, March 6, through Sunday, March 10 at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Hokies, who are coming off a Final Four run a season ago, finished at the top of the league standings with a 15-3 record and are seeking their second straight ACC crown. VT strung together 10 straight wins in February and reached as high as No. 5 in the Associated Press (AP) Poll. The Hokies begin their postseason on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Three teams tied at 13-5 in the final standings, as NC State, Syracuse and Notre Dame all landed deadlocked in second place overall. The Wolfpack secured the No. 2 following its wins over the Orange and Fighting Irish, while Syracuse claimed the No. 3 seed with its season sweep of Notre Dame. All three teams earned double byes in this year’s tournament.
Louisville and Florida State ended the regular season tied at 12-6, as the Cardinals earned the No. 5 seed following their win over the Seminoles on February 29. Duke and North Carolina finished with identical 11-7 records and in a tie for seventh in the final standings. Despite splitting the regular-season matchups, the Blue Devils earned the No. 7 seed based on their win over regular-season champion Virginia Tech. All four teams will receive a single bye and will begin their tournament campaigns on Thursday.
Rounding out the field and opening this year’s tournament is No. 10 seed Georgia Tech (7-11), No. 11 seed Virginia (6-11), No. 12 seed Clemson (5-12), No. 13 seed Boston College (5-13), No. 14 seed Wake Forest (2-16) and No. 15 seed Pitt (2-15).
