NC State star DJ Burns agrees to summer camp deal with Cleveland

The Cavaliers sign Burns as a free agent after he went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft

CLEVELAND — After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers quickly signed  NC State big man DJ Burns to a Summer League deal. 

Burns averaged 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Wolfpack this year, shooting 53.1% from the field. 

DJ Burns helped lead State to its first ACC Championship since 1987. He became the face of the NCAA Basketball tournament where he led the Pack to the Final Four  averaging 18.25 points, shooting 67.4% from the field, 

During the offseason, Burns shed 45 pounds from his in-season playing weight. 

Burns is the first Wolfpack player picked up as a free agent after this year's draft.

NBA Summer league begins Saturday, July 6 and runs through July 12.
