NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — Racing fans, beware of this on Sunday!

After a heavy rainstorm on Saturday dumped approximately four inches of rain at North Wilkesboro Speedway within two hours, around 40% of the speedway-owned parking is unusable.

The speedway has announced schedule changes for Sunday's race events and new parking recommendations as they work on repairs:

  • To allow additional drying time and to deliver gravel and shore up low spots, on-site parking lots and the Fan Zone will now open at 10 a.m.
  • Entry gates will follow at 10:30 a.m.
  • The Wright Brand 250 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race will start at 11:30 a.m.
  • The pre-race concert by Warren Zeiders is set for 2:00 p.m.
  • The All-Star Open will start at 5:30 p.m.
  • The NASCAR All-Star Race will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Fans are strongly encouraged to carpool to the speedway. Attendees may be redirected to different parking areas than those originally purchased.

With support from Wilkes County Community College and bus donations from local Boy Scout troops, the speedway said they will operate remote parking for all LOT 1 advance-parking ticketholders.

Fans with LOT 1 parking passes should proceed directly to Wilkes County Community College where shuttles to and from the speedway will begin running at 9 a.m.
