Kevin Harvick is returning to North Wilkesboro Speedway

Kevin Harvick will be behind the wheel of the number 62 Chevrolet when the green flag flies on Saturday, Aug 3.
WFMY News 2 is gearing up for the All-Star race by looking at the history of North Wilkesboro Speedway and what fans can expect this year.

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — The North Wilkesboro Speedway has been the home of the last two NASCAR cup series All-Star Races — plus the weeks’ worth of festivities that lead up to race day including, the zMax cars tour which is known as the premier late model stock car racing scene in the nation.

The birthplace of racing will be active again this summer, and that's because the zMax cars tour will be back in the Triad after being rained out twice during the All-Star week.

So, in August, the drivers will be back at North Wilkesboro, and so will the legend—Kevin Harvick, who will be behind the wheel of the number 62 Chevrolet when the green flag flies on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Harvick finished 11th in the Window World 125 in May 2023 at North Wilkesboro.

All tickets purchased for the races on May 15 will also be honored at the gate on Aug. 3.
