GREENSBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina A&T Aggies will face off with the Winston-Salem State Rams in a football game on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Truist Stadium in Greensboro.
This will be the teams' first matchup since 2010.
The last time they met in Greensboro, the Rams defeated the Aggies 21-14 on Sept. 4, 2010. Now, Hall of Famer, Kameron Smith led the Rams to victory on a 65-yard and game-winning touchdown on the final drive en route to propelling the victory, according to a WSSU report.
The two schools have been rivals dating back to their first football meeting on Oct. 7, 1944. The Aggies lead the all-time series 36-12.
The renewal of the rivalry will be part of the 100-year celebration of NC A&T football.
"I know our fan base has been excited about the prospect of playing this game since WSSU withdrew their petition to join the MEAC," NC A&T Director of Athletics, Earl Hinton III said in 2020 when the renewal was first announced. "I am glad we were able to put this together for our fans."
NC A&T/WSSU connections:
- The Rams' new Offensive Coordinator, Glenn Reese used to coach for the Aggies two seasons ago, and the assistant wide receivers coach, Zach Leslie played and graduated from NC A&T. His final season with the Aggies was during 2022.
