CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In just two years at Reidsville Senior High School, rising Junior Kendre Harrison has put together quite the resume.
Last school year, Harrison and the Ram won two state titles: one in football and one in basketball.
The Rams only lost one game in those two seasons combined, however, into his junior year, Harrison has decided to move on.
“The love and support from Reidsville is unmatched, and I won’t get that kind of love from anywhere else," Harrison said.
Harrison is considered by all the major ranking services as a top 10 prospect in football and top 50 in basketball, winning NCHSAA male athlete of the year for the 2023-24 school year and now he’s ready to challenge himself on a bigger stage.
“I’m trying to get to the next level, and hopefully get to the NFL or the NBA and I feel like Providence Day School is a place, close to home still that can help me make my dreams come true," Harrison said.
He says he's doing way more stuff, being way more versatile and that's the key thing right there.
"I get to show everybody what I can do," Harrison added. "On the basketball court, on the football field, I get to show everybody what I can do in the classroom everything here is just a blessing and I know there’s a reason why I’m here.”
As Harrison closes one chapter and prepares to begin his next, he has one special message for his hometown.
“Reidsville, it’s always love. It’ll always be home. When anybody asks me where I’m from, I will never say I’m from Charlotte. I’ll say Reidsville because that’s where I’m from.”
