GREENSBORO, N.C. — JJ Redick is trading in a headset for a clip board, as the former Duke basketball player has reportedly landed his first head coaching job with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Redick has agreed to a four-year deal with the Lakers after GM Rob Pelinka offered him the job Thursday morning, according to ESPN.
ESPN adds, "Pelinka became sold on Redick’s ability to connect with players and his basketball IQ and believes surrounding him with an elite coaching staff will help to shorten the learning curve into his first coaching job."
