RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes have sold out 61 consecutive games since Feb. 24.
On Sunday evening, the Hurricanes played their final home game of the regular season at PNC Arena, where they were cheered on by a crowd of 18,837 fans.
PNC Arena's capacity for hockey is 18,700, but this season they averaged 18,798 fans per game, exceeding the capacity by 100.5%.
Due to an increase in demand, more standing-room-only admissions were opened this season than ever before.
