GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Pittsburgh Pirates are making changes to the Greensboro Grasshoppers coaching staff.
Friday, the Pirates announced Miguel Perez will take over as Greensboro's manager for the 2019 season. He'll be joined by pitching coach Stan Kyles, hitting coach Chris Petersen, trainer Jorge Islas, and strength and conditioning coach Jim Seratt.
Perez spent the past two seasons as manager of Pittsburgh's Bristol, TN, affiliate and is in his 12th season with the Pirates organization.
Kyles has been part of the Pirates organization for seven seasons and has spent 28 years as a minor league instructor.
Petersen, a former Major League player, is in his second season as a coach in the Pirates organization.
Opening Day for the Grasshoppers is set for Thursday, April 4.
